About the show

Under the Patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation and the Head of the General Women's Union, EmiratesSkills promotes and organizes the "National Competition 2012" that will take place on 11th and 12th April 2012.

The National Competition represents the only UAE platform for the best Emirati skilled youth to compete in 15 vocational and technical skill categories and be evaluated and judged by a technical committee and internationally accredited experts.

The National Competition is a great chance to discover new skills and be involved in a "hands-on" activity. Students visiting the event can experiment different skills by taking part to "Have a Go" experiences: virtual welding, flight simulation, first aid demonstration and much more.

The Event also showcases the best projects of students from technical and vocational high schools and colleges of the Institute of Applied Technology and the Abu Dhabi Vocational Education & Training Institute as well the Traffic City and the Drill Competition of Al Bayariq Program.

EmiratesSkills is a program under the umbrella of the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training –ACTVET. EmiratesSkills' activities focus on raising the awareness of career-based technical and vocational education among young Emiratis by organizing competitions, events, training programs and technical career activities.

EmiratesSkills role is aligned with the Abu Dhabi Vision 2030 and contributes to the achievement of the UAE Economic Vision 2020 by promoting social and human resources development and preparing the National workforce to serve industrial and technological growth in UAE.

Through the National Competition EmiratesSkills promotes excellence in workmanship in UAE and encourages the new generation to embrace industrial and technological career pathways.
