Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team’s Mikko Hirvonen grabbed fourth place at an action-packed WRC Rallye de France this weekend and catapulted himself into title contention for the Drivers’ Championship with just two rounds left to run.
M&S opens new store in Marina Mall
Marks & Spencer Al-Futtaim opened its second M&S store in Abu Dhabi last Sunday. It has 29,674 square foot in Marina Mall, in the area formerly occupied by Ikea.
Register now for the Striders 10K
It’s not too late to sign up for the Abu Dhabi Striders 10K run happening 21st October from 7am to 9am at Zayed Sports City. This race kicks off the series that leads up to the Striders’ half marathon at Yas Island on 18th November.

The Higher Organizing Committee of the Emirates International Date Palm Festival (EIDPF) has announced that the programme for the six-day family-centric festival has been significantly expanded to include an entertainment line-up featuring arts, culture and traditional activities celebrating the super fruit.

Al Shaheen Library, the first private library in Abu Dhabi, celebrated its ninth anniversary this week. “We opened on 2nd October 2002,” said library employee Ms Aisha. “It was started to encourage reading habits. We now have more than 20,000 books and comics in our collection.”
IRENA Inaugurates Innovation Center in Bonn
"The launch of the Innovation and Technology Center (IITC) of the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) will add further impetus to the success of the Agency, located in Abu Dhabi," said Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, president of the First Session of the Assembly of IRENA and UAE special envoy for Energy and Climate Change
