Abu Dhabi takes on the world
In just under two weeks' time, Abu Dhabi Ocean Racing will make history as the first Arabian team to take part in the gruelling 39,000 nautical mile round-the-world Volvo Ocean Race. We caught up with skipper Ian Walker and the rest of the crew in Portugal for a day at sea and a once-in-a-lifetime experience
Beauty and a beast
Chevrolet revived its iconic Camaro coupé in 2010 to critical acclaim. Now it's flexing even more muscle with the new convertible version. Abu Dhabi Week gets behind the wheel to see if we can handle the power
Abu Dhabi Triathlon returns
Organisers of the Abu Dhabi International Triathlon 2012 – the third in the annual series, which will be held next March – are targeting a record field of 2,100 participants, up from 1,500 in 2011, as the event continues to attract strong local and international sign-up and elite participation
ADACH launch anniversary expedition
The Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH) has announced the Footsteps of Mubarak Bin London expedition, which will see Captain Saeed Rashed Al Mesafry from Ras Al Khaimah and Lt Ghafan Mohammed Al Jabry from Al Ain join world record-breaking adventurer Adrian Hayes in recreating the adventures of the great explorer Wilfred Thesiger by travelling from Salalah in Oman to Abu Dhabi via Liwa and Al Ain
Al Jazira lead the way
Al Jazira's defence of their Etisalat Pro League title started in emphatic style last weekend as two goals from Brazilian striker Ricardo Oliveira fired them to a convincing 4-0 win over Dubai-based Al Ahli in front of an 11,864-strong crowd at the Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium

IN CINEMAS

Contagion
(PG15) Drama | Sci-Fi | Thriller

Germophobes turn away now - Contagion tells the story of a deadly virus as it spreads. You may think you've seen it before (Outbreak, 28 Days Later, 12 Monkeys), but this is a valid new take. The film begins with Gwynth Paltrow returning home from a business trip, unknowingly carrying the deadly virus, and we see just how easily a chain of contamination forms.

I Don't Know How She Does It
(PG15) Comedy

Sarah Jessica Parker plays Kate Reddy – a successful businesswoman, wife and mother of two young kids trying to balance everything. That's it really, in a nutshell.

Paranormal Activity 3
(TBC) Horror

The third instalment of this hidden camera horror franchise takes us back to the beginning. We visit Katie and Kristi of the first two films and see where the hauntings began.
